I'm an Introvert with an Extrovert Assignment

Can I get an Amen! How many of you can also relate to being an introvert with an extrovert assignment. The Bible says he uses the foolish things to shame the wise in 1 Corinthians 1:27. How foolish is it that God would use a shy, introverted person to carry out a worldwide assignment. Let’s take David for example. He was a quiet boy whose job was to keep the sheep. Matter of fact, when Samuel came to his father Jesse’s house looking for a King, Jesse didn’t even consider him. It took Samuel asking again if he had any other sons before David’s name came up. I’m sure David was just as surprised as any of them to be appointed as King. He wasn’t looking to be noticed. He wasn’t looking for recognition yet God chose him. Although it seemed as if he was small, God had already placed everything in him that he would need to do a great work. David eventually had to step into his assignment as King and rule on behalf of God.
Let’s look at Esther. This was an orphan girl raised by her cousin Mordecai. She didn’t come from a rich or prominent family but God chose her to be the one that would help deliver her people out of bondage. When she went before the King, she was favored amongst all the other women. Can you imagine being appointed as a Queen and having to risk your life to save your people? Her courage was the catalyst to bring deliverance.
There are so many stories like this in the Word of God. But as God told Samuel when he was choosing David as King, “for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” We tend to look at all the ways we don’t measure up for our assignment. We get caught up in our insufficiencies and sometimes miss what God wants to do. Every place of lack in our lives, God makes up for with his glory. Somebody say Amen!
When God shares with you your assignment, I am sure it may seem intimidating. How can I do this God? I don’t like crowds. I can’t speak well. I don’t have a passport. We have so many excuses as to why we can’t move but God wants to push us out of our comfort zone. You are the voice that will be heard in arenas. You are the one that will go and heal the nations. You may think you are an introvert but your assignment is extroverted. Every area that you feel you lack, God will make up the difference just as he did with Moses.
Lord says to you today, Fear not, for I am with you. He gave the same word to Joshua when he was called to lead the people to the promise land after Moses’ death. You must fear not because God is with you and he will not leave you nor forsake you. He will be with you and he is holding your hand through this journey. Be courageous and Fear Not because you are certainly equipped for your assignment and you will Not fail.
